Bobby's Schiedam Jenever is part of the selection of high-quality spirits from the House of Herman Jansen offer and was created in collaboration with Sebastian - the grandson of Jacobus Alfons, known to his friends and family as a Bob or Bobby. Bobby, born in Ambon, Indonesia, emigrated to the Netherlands in 1950 and shortly after fell in love with the Dutch Jenever. Longing for his familiar home-like flavors, he began infusing the liquor with famous Indonesian spices and herbs, unconsciously creating his own gin and thus laying the foundation for Bobby's Schiedam Jenever.

In 2012, Bobby's grandson Sebastian discovered an old bottle in his mother's house. Inspired by stories about his grandfather and a unique Indonesian recipe, he went to Schiedam, the city where Jenever was born. There he met the seventh-generation master of distilling, Herman Jansen, with whom they started working on the creation of a unique gin, combining the Schiedam Jenever tradition with the best Indonesian plants and spices. After almost two years of distillation, development and refining, Bobby's Schiedam Jenever was created, a unique drink that combines elements of the East and the West.

Bobby's Schiedam Jenever uses the classic base of malt distillate and eight separately distilled botanicals. The mixture consists only of a high-quality organic botanical ingredients, including juniper, cubeb pepper, lemon peel, cardamom, lemongrass, ginger. Traditional Indonesian plants and spices give Bobby's Schiedam Jenever a unique flavor profile, while juniper creates a balance between east and west.

Bobby's Schiedam Jenever comes in a beautiful green glass bottle. Its shape is a modern interpretation of the classic 'raven' bottle used for storing jenever. The label shows the traditional Indonesian Ikat pattern. Both of these elements create a unique mix of east and west.
